Intellectual Property Administrator

Casanovas Recruitment Solutions are looking for an Intellectual Property Administrator. 

Duties of the role:

  • Supporting Patent and Trade Mark attorneys with their work;
  • Email and administrative support; reviewing incoming emails, taking note of instructions and deadlines, replying where appropriate, and saving to electronic files;
  • Communicating with clients about their IP matters and working closely with other external agents, including face-to-face meetings and phone calls from day one;
  • Preparing and filing UK patent applications / European patent applications / Euro-PCT applications;
  • Dealing with invoices and renewals;
  • Deal with post, internal and external, distributing, actioning and filing as required.
  • Euro-GB validation work.
  • UK and Euro trade mark and design filing
  • International (UK handling office) filing.
  • International (Euro handling office) filing.
  • Compiling Information disclosure statements.
  • Payment of renewals and sending renewal reminders
  • Communication with registries (UK / Europe  / WIPO)
  • The ideal candidate will ideally be familiar with UK, European and international systems such as the PCT and the Madrid system. The client may have the CIPA or CITMA paralegal qualification.
  • You will have an eye for detail, work with high levels of accuracy and possess the ability to work under pressure, prioritising effectively. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • strong typing skills;
  • a professional approach to work;
  • a positive, friendly and helpful approach to being a team player;
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own;
  • IT literacy skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
