Casanovas Recruitment Solutions have a new exciting temporary role to join a well-established health care company with an excellent reputation as a Lead HR Busienss Partner reporting to the Director (People Partnering). The Lead HR Business Partner is responsible for ensuring the contribution of People expertise to business decision making and develop innovative people solutions to support business plans and strategy
You will work as a strategic HR Business Partner supporting the Social Care Group Companies, providing highly specialised and strategic workforce focused expertise and advice to ensure our people are capable, effective and healthy, and ultimately able to deliver great care.
A key responsibility of the role will be to investigate, manage, and advise on highly complex and sensitive people issues providing advice and guidance to all levels within the care solutions part of the business.
To create insight, impact and challenge to support the drive for positive change by working in partnership with senior management through being evidence based and outcomes driven in approach.
A key focus of the role will be on helping to build and sustain people management capacity through effective coaching of managers in applying HR policy and practice and helping deliver improvements in how staff performance is maximised.
To lead complex change management and TUPE programmes, ensuring legal compliance.
You will work in collaboration with internal and external partner organisations in the Community Collaborative and the wider health and social care system to develop, influence and agree solutions.
Day to day responsibilities:
To line manage (appraisal, attendance & performance management) and provide leadership and development opportunities to People Partners, supporting them and providing learning/development opportunities as appropriate.
To lead on highly complex and sensitive employee relations cases with all staffing groups across the Health Directorate.
To be integral in supporting senior managers in developing long-term business strategy and workforce plans linking with other areas to ensure consistency and compatibility with organisation wide strategic plans.
Using credible business acumen, benchmarking, industry awareness, available data analytics and applying experience and knowledge to create a strong evidence base, to identify specific workforce trends and issues that provide insight and challenge in order to create highly effective people focused solutions and interventions that are outcomes focussed and meet business needs.
To lead workforce focused interventions to enable and support the delivery of the company’s vision and business plans to ensure the workforce is capable, effective and healthy, and ultimately able to deliver great care.
To represent the company at NHS System meetings and be the lead People representative at system led initiates, implementing actions and changing policy as required.
To identify and implement workforce opportunities, including redesigning policy and plans as appropriate to support patient-focused and efficient service delivery.
To champion best practice human resource management and to support the implementation of workforce strategies and priorities, ensuring that initiatives are embedded, and benefits are realised.
To skilfully influence, coach and mentor leaders, to continuously improve people management skills and embed a people-focussed organisational culture.
Work closely with the Health Directorate Senior Management team to ensure retention is reviewed regularly, challenges are understood, and initiatives are co-designed (lead by Lead People Partner) and put in place to retain staff.
To lead workforce aspects of complex organisational change initiatives providing consultancy, expert advice and delivery, including e.g. service redesign, workforce remodelling, TUPE transfers, redundancy and redeployment exercises etc., ensuring that HR risks are recognised and minimised through compliance with all relevant legislation and policy requirements.
To provide advice on informal employee relations issues, promoting a people focussed approach to decision-making and problem solving with managers that supports a just and learning culture for continuous improvement.
To keep updated on legislative developments and changes to NHS HR policy, ensuring that mechanisms are in place for the embedding of HR initiatives and relevant legislative requirements within the Health Directorate, changing policy and process as appropriate.
To participate in the design, development and delivery of People training/development initiatives, providing training to groups of managers and also supporting others delivering training through the provision of advice on technical HR aspects of course content as required.
Required skills and Qualifications
Educated to degree level with a Postgraduate management diploma or equivalent experience or training.
Further highly developed specialist knowledge or experience to Master’s level equivalent.
Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Chartered member of the CIPD.
Significant experience of working within HR in the NHS
Senior experience of HR in a fast-paced organisation, with a demonstrable track record of achievement.
A thorough knowledge of all aspects of HR to include employee relations and employment law.
Experience of partnership working with trade unions.
Experience of using and developing HR and workforce information systems to enhance e-functionality.
Experienced in dealing with highly complex and sensitive employee relations cases and acting as lead advisor to the senior management and colleagues on policy and process.
Experience of partnership working, engaging and influencing stakeholders both internally and externally.
Experience of leading, supporting and developing a team.
Knowledge of Agenda for Change (AfC) and NHS Terms and Conditions.
Extensive experience of performance management processes, grievance and discipline, including hearings and appeals.
Ability to drive and independent travel around to various sites from time to time– own vehicle required.
