Financial Controller

Casanovas Recruitment Solutions are very excited to be representing a fantastic client that is looking for a Financial Controller based in Earls Colne.

As the senior finance person, you will be responsible for all financial matters including maintaining accurate books and records, producing timely management accounts, payroll, annual budgeting and management of the team.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will provide financial information and analysis to aid understanding of the operational performance of the division and to meet annual budgets, providing financial information to the Group CFO for inclusion in Group reporting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Leading and managing the regional finance team, fostering an open, inclusive, and progressive culture.

  2. Working with the MD and CFO, put in place a team with the appropriate skills and, (where applicable), qualifications to ensure that the day-to-day responsibilities of the finance team are met.

  3. Maintaining accurate accounting records for the division, delegating day to day processing to the incumbent team members where appropriate, whilst retaining responsibility and oversight of all elements of Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cash Books and Banking, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Balance Sheet Controls along with overseeing the control and reconciliation of Service User Monies.

  4. Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget on a home-by-home basis.

  5. Implementing and overseeing compliance of group policies, with regards to spend approvals and assisting with the completion of capex requests as required.

  6. Bank Signatory and managing cash daily.

  7. Monthly reporting, overseeing the preparation of management accounts and reports, ensuring their accuracy, meeting group deadlines, and presenting the financial results to the CFO and CEO at the monthly reviews.

  8. Preparation of 12 month rolling cash flow forecasts.

  9. Overseeing payroll ensuring hours are reconciled weekly and payroll is submitted on time and accurate.

Key Skills and Experience:

• ACCA / ICAEW / CIMA qualified

• Able to lead a team, manage and develop staff

• Proven experience of producing management accounts and information

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create and interpret complex data using IT systems

• Advanced excel skills

• The ability to prioritise workloads effectively to meet deadlines consistently

• Able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders

• Experience Payroll processing and / or management

• SAGE experience is preferred but not essential
